WHO IS DANA?
Hello viewers! my name is Dana, I am 20 years old and currently studying at the University of Wollongong. My hobbies consist of plenty! Such as: Photography, Graphic Design, Art, Technology, Gaming, Filmmaking, Skiing, Hiking, Camping, Road-Tripping… The list goes on and on!
MY MISSION!
As a lover of multimedia, and as a digital content creator, I wanted to pursue a digital artefact that embraced my current skills as a digital artist. I am an aspiring graphic designer, illustrative artist, photographer and content creator. As a naturally creative person, I want to continue branching and developing my creativity into a digital artefact, where I would be able to use as a creative outlet essentially. As Albert Einstein once said: “Creativity is intelligence having fun!”. For me this quote significantly outlines my view on creative expression, because at the end of the day, the essence and concept of creativity is about having fun! Educating yourself or others, bringing about a community, forming an identity and potentially gaining profit! However, most importantly, its about self development, gaining new skills and perfecting your craft.
BRAINSTORMING = IDEA
Going into this I definitely had a concept of what I wanted to do and produce. Digital illustrations has been a business idea I’ve had for a while now. I wanted to create one-lined digital illustration artworks for clients. I managed to get my first client by advertising my service via twitter, a lovely customer viewed my post and then direct messaged me after and asked if I could do an illustration:
This was the completed illustration I did for her. When i completed it, I wanted to make it more special by presenting it printed and beautifully framed. This was an idea that I initially had after completing the illustration, essentially I wanted to do more that would benefit the consumer and my business image.
After beautifully framing the illustration, I then had the idea of packaging beautifully and accordingly to my aesthetic. The brown parchment paper under the frame was an ideal use of wrapping paper, and I knew it would suit my artefacts aesthetic perfectly. When I was brainstorming my artefact, I wanted to incorporate an old fashioned kind of style, that was also economically friendly. The final stage of the process met a wonderful end, ready to be sent to the customer.
A perfect illustration that was beautifully framed and perfectly packaged was then sent to the customer, and I was presented with wonderful feedback and my artwork was then shared via social media platforms such as Instagram and twitter!
WHAT MORE?
I believe and feel like that Im off to a great start. However I want to do more, I feel like I have so much more multimedia concepts that I want to share. I am passionate about many things and have considered branching into creating a YouTube channel that incorporates my photography, technology, lifestyle, reviews, gaming, art, and potentially even bring in a Podcast show! I don’t want to limit my creative expression and artefact, I feel as an individual, I have so much more to share and create.
