
My Digital artefact has come across several lengths and changes. I must confess, when beginning this project, I found it extremely challenging trying to figure out a direction and establish a foundation for my digital artefact, my original concept was that of digital illustration, and essentially creating a bespoke service for customers, I was originally running this service via Instagram, advertising and showcasing these illustrations via insta posts. I also had an idea of composing YouTube videos for my artefact, which would include daily vlogs and challenges. However, I came to the conclusion, that It was sort of a mess and did not really have a direction, I was not firm in my choice of complying to my original digital artefact concepts. So you can imagine, I did a lot of thinking and decided to essentially change my whole my concept entirely, and I can only say, this rational decision was in fact a fantastic decision, because my current DA has well and truly seen remarkable success.
NORSE VIKINGWEAR
‘Norse Vikingwear’ is my final and established Digital artefact. Essentially NV is a Clothing brand, I had established and was running it on Instagram as a shop. I essentially build this brand on the foundation of fitness activewear using viking/nordic themes. I have always ben fascinated with nordic mythology and always had this ambition to create a clothing line. It then occurred to me that this could be the saving grace of my DA, as I was struggling to maintain direction with my original concept, I took a massive risk and decided to change everything. My brands mission is to:
“Unleash your inner beast, and embrace yourself for total control, for we will prevail and conquer the invisible enemy. Norse is here, brace yourself for impact, because this is the new era of a modern day ancient world. Come join us and be a MODERN DAY VIKING”
I designed the logo using Adobe Illustrator, since I have background in graphic design, I didn’t find designing the logo challenging, I wanted to design a minimal logo that would stand out. whenever anyone saw it.

I decided to open a Shopify account. Shopify was a fantastic way I was able to dropship my products. Shopify is pretty straightforward to use – it’s got a clean, intuitive interface and provides a generally positive user experience. In common with many other contemporary content management systems, a menu on the left allows you to access features or content, which you then customise or edit on the right.

By using Shopify, I was able to create a website for my brand and then sell my products, via the online store. Some of the products include, jumpers, T-shirts, Singlets ect… Basically activewear. In regards to the target market, NV is a universal brand anyone can wear from all ages, I did not want the brand to be singular, but to be accepted and worn by everyone.

NORSE VIKINGWEAR INSTAGRAM GROWTH
NV has seen remarkable growth on Instagram, I am a huge fan of Instagram, I personally think that it is the greatest social media platform to exist because of its incredible capability, especially for growing businesses. The marketing value is amazing. So as you can imagine I established a Insta page for Norse Vikingwear, because I now had a clear vision of my concept, branding NV seemed to be extremely easy. I started posting several images and concocted a theme, over time the page started to look appealing and then naturally the followers and recognition started to just grow. NV now has over 300 followers and is slowing growing!

Theming was important, and i wanted to establish a clear branding theme to the digital artefact. As you can see the NV theme is very minimal, natural, nordic and the use of neutral colours, creates a somewhat accurate appreciation nordic culture.

Now that my DA is finally established has seen massive growth and potential – The progress of my project thus far has been steady and slowly increasing with every post. I am extremely proud of the progression so far, considering it’s short time of establishment. I definitely want to continue growing NV into a widespread brand. My challenge now is to figure out how to do that. But I believe it has definitely showcased great potential, and I cant wait to see how it progresses.
