Hey everyone, for this weeks blog post and project evaluation. I was tasked to review my peers ethnographic pitches.

The task was pretty straightforward, essentially, I watched and read through selected peer blog post/pitches of their ethnographic research digital artefacts.

To be honest with you, I find this task rather challenging, I believe everyone who I gave commentary to genuinely had excellent projects. So it’s hard to give my own constructive criticism and thoughts of positive implementation to their research and artefacts.

So I left comments 3 incredible peers of mine. I think it was really interesting to leave comments to the particular peers that I chose. Simply because each peer had a extremely different niche and artefact concept. However what was interesting was the recurring platform that each of these peers were using. That platform was TiK ToK. So I think it was really interesting to observe the popularity of this particular platform. I believe to my understanding, TikTok appears to be a very Accessible platform to use. I think audience engagement is also a very big factor to why maybe a lot of peers would be using TikTok. The word algorithm is also a common phrase heard in the TikTok context.

From reading I did, my understanding of TikTok algorithms suggest that: “Tik Tok uses artificial intelligence algorithms to make targeted content recommendations to customers based on the habits and tastes of people in different.”

As I review the feedback I found myself giving to my peers Were quite different to each pier. For one pier I recommended To provide more of an ethical Outlook in regards to safety of viewers. Then there was the observation of potentially Integrating and working with members in the particular community, Essentially to interact.. And the last evaluated comment was in regards to persona, Getting more deeper into The idea of persona.

I think being able to express a different evaluations to these peers, sort of brought to my attention some of the inconsistencies that I face. Essentially evaluating others really made me evaluate myself, my artefact and what I may need to research.

What was interesting about this task, is what I began expressing to my peers was essentially the occurring feedback that was given back to me. When I had a look at the comments that were posted on my page. There was an awesome amount of constructive analysis. Which was of the same nature of response that I was providing. So I found that to be really insightful, I was Essentially giving advice to other peers that was the inside that I also needed, which was clarified by other peers, if that makes sense LOL.

The most important evaluation that I gathered from Comments that I received, was the notion of ethics. I understand my chosen niche can be somewhat controversial. So from this going forward I want to make sure that when proceeding with this project, I am sick or research and progression will be peaking at the back of my mind. As a meat eater personally I understand the growing vegetarian/vegan contingent, I understand the backlash this project can receive from that.

I don’t want to change peoples perspective on ethical eating, I simply want to be respectful to the growing food culture, and really showcase the proper ethical side to the meat industry and that particular produce whilst continuing my research into this auto ethnography.
